Welcome to Our New CEO: Melissa O'Hara
Melissa O'Hara is the Chief Executive Officer for Hover Senior Living Community in Longmont Colorado. She graduated with her master’s degree from Columbia University in New York City with a major in Communication Disorders and Healthcare Administration with a minor in Business. She is a member of The American College of Healthcare Executives and has done extensive work in Hospitality from the Beryl Institute.
Melissa has spent vast hours of coursework in Leadership Coaching and training. She believes that Leadership is both an art and science and requires practice to hone. She believes that if you master competence, commitment, and character, a leader will have a strong foundation upon which to grow.
Melissa is a Servant Leader and has embraced this form of leadership throughout her professional career.
Melissa began her career as a Speech-Language Pathologist, working with adults with Traumatic Brain Injury. She soon began working with elders with neurological impairments. Melissa went into operations in Senior Living and has not looked back. She has over 30 years of experience in Senior Living, both for profit and nonprofit. Her focus has always been to ensure the organization is operating as effectively and efficiently as possible and allocating resources and efforts to scale the business for success both now and for the future. She has great success in turning around failing senior living communities.
Melissa’s mission is to ensure we honor our elders, by respecting and promoting their independence, spiritual vigor, dignity, and choice, and by recognizing that they are a resource to be cherished.
Melissa was born in New York and grew up in New Jersey down the shore. She has three adult children that live up and down on the east coast. Melissa’s husband is as Air Force veteran of 23 years. Melissa now resides in Colorado. She loves the Colorado weather and to be able to view the breathtaking mountains every morning when she goes for a run. Melissa is a voracious reader and enjoys bodybuilding.

With her visionary leadership, extensive industry knowledge, and unwavering commitment to excellence, Melissa continues to inspire and lead Hover Community towards new heights of meaningful life and a place to call home.
